Great leaders are extremely self-aware, and they pay close attention to those around them. I support people to be more effective in all of their relationships, which is the foundation of achieving what they want to get done in the world. I founded Strategisense in 2000 primarily to support hardworking organizations in the social purpose, non-profit and publicly funded sectors. My core work focuses on creating transformational and lasting change through coaching, supporting those leaders who are driven to build a case for change, rally and inspire, challenge the status quo and sustain momentum to deliver their mission with greater impact.

As founder and CEO, I lead our strategy, leadership and organizational development services which include clarifying strategic intent and planning, organizational change management, governance development, leadership development and coaching, and team effectiveness.

I believe that community-based research is a powerful vehicle for social change; it provides practitioners with the reliable sources of knowledge they require to design more effective interventions for greater impact. I am proud to work with public health, social service, and other non-for-profit organizations that provide services and supports to marginalized populations facing intersectional barriers, particularly immigrants, refugees, racialized groups, and women.

I have over 12 years’ experience in community development, research, and advocacy, with significant experience at designing evaluations for diverse populations facing intersectional barriers. I have provided leadership in community-based and culturally adaptive research, evaluation, and quality improvement processes, designing and implementing projects that combine rigorous, evidence-informed methodologies used in social science research with anti-oppression and intersectionality principles.

Victoria Garland, Strategic Project Manager

Victoria Garland

Strategic Project Manager

I love a challenge; I get excited by seeing an obstacle from a new perspective or from a completely different angle. A shift in thinking can come from anywhere or anyone. In my role as Project Manager, I focus on strategic processes to support the long-term growth of our company, and I’m proud to bring the perspective of experience in multicultural environments within the public, private and third sectors – from imagining the future with entrepreneurs and activists alike, to the discipline of working with investors and public health systems. Working within a smaller firm, I can feel the value each team member brings and the influence that they have on the company; the fact that our company is both female founded and led is important to me. I believe passionately in small, high-growth companies. Strategisense is especially exciting because of our capacity to have exponential impact on the public sector.
